Description:

Have you ever wonder how to create your own garden to grow your own food at home? Would you like to take responsability of your own acts and eat food as local as possible?

In this interesting workshop we will learn about the urban farming or urban gardening concept and the importance of it.

By growing what we need near where we live, we decrease the “food miles” associated with long-distance transportation, and thus we will reduce pollution. We also get the fresh food encouraging to eat in season.

No matter where you live, in this workshop you will learn how to design and start your own “homemade” production. Our teacher will explain us about cooperative urban farming and aquoponics.

Come and learn about this necessary movement!

What do you need?

No material is needed, but if you have newspapers, jars, and food seeds at home, bring them with you to have hands on experience!

Location and time:

Sunday 13th November, from  1 – 3 p.m.

VerdensKulturCentret, Room 104, Nørre Allé 7, 2200 København

Verdens Skove is a Danish environmental organization working for the conservation and sustainable use of the world’s forest- both the Danish forest and rainforest. They fight for a world with rich forest scenery.

Their vision is that the wild forest nature will be preserved and promoted. Their goal is that forest resources are managed socially, environmentally and economically responsible.

In Denmark they are fighting to promote forest biodiversity and to create a landscape with more wild forest scenery that is rich in biodiversity.

They also work in collaboration with their partners in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Bolivia to defend the rainforest.
